There are fifteen curriculum-linked slide presentations - five link to the theme of 'Energy', five to 'Forces' and five to 'Materials'. Each presentation begins with an overall introduction to power - linking how important power is as part of the theme - then explores a sub topic (e.g. gravity) showing what it is and how it is used in the world around us. The presentations can be used on interactive whiteboards and PCs. They're easy to use and you can click forwards or backwards between slides. This site also contains a useful word bank to help you communicate scientific terms and concepts in child-friendly language.

The presentations contain vivid imagery and key points covering different aspects of science and technology under each theme, as well as questions to get pupils thinking and provide inspiration for stimulating discussions. They are also good stimuli for the practical activities suggested in the activity ideas. Click on the topics below to go to the downloadable presentations and activity ideas. Alternatively the presentations can be a stimulus for a learning-led approach by the children.
