We have launched a major engineering initiative to renew the UK's network of gas pipelines, improving services for everyone. To deliver this high-profile work we need talented people to join our Construction Engineer Training Programme. This will give you the skills and experience to lead teams and ongoing projects over the next 10 years and beyond.
The project – to replace old iron pipes with plastic polyethylene – is a massive undertaking. It involves contractors, partners and major engineering challenges. Mixing on-the-job experience with formal technical and leadership training, this programme will last between two and four years depending on your skills and qualifications when you enter the programme. It will prepare you to manage teams and complicated projects. At the end, you will be a skilled team leader or manager with the following qualifications:
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering
- NVQ level 4 qualification in Engineering Management
- Engineering Technician status with the Institute of Gas Engineers
